Marketing Video – AGOA Exporter of the Year Awards
AGOA Exporter of the Year Awards
We were tasked with the development and facilitation of the Hybrid Live Stream for the AGOA Exporter of the Year Awards for the second year in a row. The Live Stream event involved a combination of pre-recorded interviews, mini documentaries and additional complementary graphics and animation. The event was done in collaboration with USAID, who provided us with additional video material for various award nominees from the US who could not make the physical event. In order to maintain a consistent ‘look and feel’ we provided them with a template design for the event in advance, to keep it looking professional. We also travelled to the western cape in advance and interviewed the various winners which we edited into mini documentaries. This was the ideal format as each company got to highlight their processes and products in a uniform manner. This also pushed the production value of the show, as each attendee got a proper glimpse into what makes these award winners special.
To produce the videos and documentaries for the project, we collaborated with the Oliver Karstel Content Production Agency. Having worked on numerous videos projects in the past, it was a perfect fit. Our teams set up clear channels of communication and collaboration, and all our shared resources were allocated to optimise the production process and time frames. Having to produce multiple videos while travelling and filming can be a time-consuming effort, each team needs to allocate equipment and time to film each location, which adds another level of logistical difficulty. This was overcome by splitting our filming crews into two teams, with team responsible for a set of footage per location. All of our raw footage was then uploaded to a shared resource tool to enable our editing and design teams to collaborate on the editing without disrupting the shoot dates. This also meant we could complete the videos considerably faster, ensuring on the day of the event that all the content was finalised and approved by the various stakeholders involved.
When producing multiple videos to be showcased at a live event, it is essential you have a consistent ‘look and feel’ across all the content to maintain a professional event. It is also crucial to have an extended editorial process, as the entire project involved numerous stakeholders across multiple organisations. Due to our collaboration process we could afford an extended editorial process, as each video draft was completed within days of filming.
