We were tasked with the production and facilitation of the Hybrid Live Stream for the AGOA Exporter of the Year Awards for the second year in a row. The Live Stream event involved a combination of pre-recorded interviews, mini documentaries and additional complementary graphics, animation, and event photography – the focus of this project write-up. The event was hosted by USAID, who also tasked us with the hybrid live stream project.

The project photography focus was to take images of the event to share on their website, social media and sales collateral. This combined photos of the event venue, award ceremony and portraits of key event members. One of the benefits of working with our team is that each team member has a multi-faceted skill set, which means all our videographers and live streamers are professional photographers as well. This means we can work more closely with the clients budget by reducing the crew size and spreading the workload. In order to pull this off, the entire event needs to be planned well in advance to ensure all the moving parts of the event day run smoothly. This also means we can allocate the photography throughout the event to make sure we capture the right shots.

With event photography it is vital that you arrive at the venue prior to the event to ensure the lighting is correct, the backdrops and branding are in place, and all your equipment is set up. With a full day event it is also important you bring enough memory storage and extra charged batteries, as equipment is being used throughout the entire event. With an event like this it is important to edit the final photos as quickly as possible as they play a vital role in the marketing of the event stream and the website’s content. In order to achieve this our team would upload the photos during the event so that our in-house team could edit them in time for the marketing deliverables.

It was an absolute pleasure working with the USAID team, they provided timely feedback through each phase of the project. They also prepared a fantastic event at a truly scenic venue. The venue also provided sufficient screens, and stable internet to ensure we could facilitate the entire hybrid live stream event.
