Live streaming has become an essential part of modern-day communication, especially since the onset of the pandemic. With physical events and conferences being cancelled or delayed, organisations have resorted to live streaming to connect with their audience. Recently, we were approached by Purple Word Box (PR, Marketing and Communication Specialists) on behalf of TreasuryONE, a financial services provider, to provide a live stream on a group commentary of the National budget speech from the night before.

Preparation for the Live Stream

The night before the live stream event, our team set up three cameras to capture the important visuals and angles. We tested the cameras, the sound quality, and the lighting to ensure that everything was perfect for the live event. We also ensured the reliability of the internet connection, which was crucial to deliver a seamless stream. We then made sure that our system was synchronised with the custom design slides and information that were to be presented during the live stream.

Speakers

During the live stream, we were privileged to host top-notch speakers in their respective fields. The speakers included:

• Dr. Azar Jammine – a Director and Chief Economist from Econometrix
• George Glynos – the Co-founder and Head of Research from ETM Analytics
• Songezo Zibi – a Political Analyst and Commentator
The speakers provided comprehensive analysis of the budget speech, including its impact on the South African economy.

Custom Design Slides

To improve the overall viewing experience, we provided custom design slides, which included graphs and additional information about the budget speech. The slides were synchronised with the stream, making it easier for viewers to follow the budget and the analysis presented by the speakers. The custom design slides also ensured that the viewers did not miss any crucial information.

Live Stream Execution

On the day of the event, our team was on-site to facilitate the filming of the budget speech and manage the stream. We switched between the three cameras to capture the essential visuals and angles. We also monitored the sound quality, ensuring that the speakers’ voices were audible and clear. Everything was executed smoothly, thanks to the preparedness and professionalism of our team.
